John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, Squeaky Fromme, Leon Czolgosz, Sara Jane Moore, Charles Guiteau, Giuseppe Zangara, John Hinckley Jr. and Samuel Byck, mingle, carouse, complain and make an impassioned case for their place in the game of history, egged on by the Proprietor and the Balladeer.

The set was designed to function as a cross between a shooting gallery and a slot machine, with a pop-up mechanism affected by a lever on stage right, controlled by the Proprietor, and larger-than-life presidential heads that popped up when it was their turn to be shot or interacted with.
